We Black We Golf (WBWG) Membership Understanding Agreement

 

This Membership Agreement (the "Agreement") outlines the terms, benefits, and expectations associated with becoming a member of We Black We Golf (WBWG). By completing the membership application and submitting the required membership fee, you (the "Member") agree to the terms set forth in this Agreement. This Agreement is provided alongside your membership application for your review and acknowledgment.

 

1. Membership Overview

 

WBWG is a social organization dedicated to promoting golf within Black, other communities of color and economically disenfranchised communities, fostering networking, and creating inclusive opportunities for golfers. Paid membership is available to individuals who share these values and wish to access exclusive perks and resources. Membership is annual and renewable upon payment of the applicable fee, unless otherwise specified. Upon approval of your application and receipt of your membership fee, you will be granted paid member status. WBWG reserves the right to review and approve or deny applications at its discretion.

 

2. Membership Benefits

 

As a paid member, you will receive the following exclusive perks and opportunities: 

 

• Introductory Welcome Items: Complimentary items provided as part of your paid membership, including:

  • A membership-exclusive challenge coin, issued upon receipt of your membership fee. 

  • A personalized We Black We Golf polo shirt.

  • A We Black We Golf bag tag.

These items are provided at no additional cost and serve as symbols of your commitment to WBWG. 

 

• Discounts and Negotiated Perks: WBWG will actively work with area golf courses to negotiate exclusive discounts for members. Details of available discounts will be communicated via member communications and may vary by location and availability. 

• Member Events: WBWG will host periodic member-only events throughout the year, such as golf outings, networking sessions, and social gatherings. Participation in these events may require additional registration or fees, depending on the event. 

• Member's Only Database: Your application data will be used to populate a secure, member's only database. This database will be accessible exclusively to paid members for networking purposes, such as connecting with fellow golfers. Access will be granted via a secure platform, and members agree to use this information responsibly and in accordance with privacy guidelines outlined in Section 4. 

• Member's Business Roster: Members may opt to include their business information in a member's business roster. This roster will be available to all paid members to facilitate the procurement of goods and services. WBWG will prioritize businesses listed in this roster when sourcing goods and services for the organization, promoting economic support within the community. 

• Chapter Development and Ambassador Opportunities: WBWG aims to establish local chapters through its membership base. Paid members are encouraged to express interest in serving as area ambassadors to lead and organize local chapters. Ambassadors will receive guidance and support from WBWG leadership to foster community engagement.

 

Benefits are subject to change at WBWG's discretion, with reasonable notice provided to members. Not all benefits may be available immediately upon joining, and some may depend on location, participation, or organizational developments.

 

3. Member Obligations

 

As a paid member, you agree to:

• Abide by WBWG's code of conduct, which emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and positive representation of the organization and the golfing community. 

• Pay the annual membership fee in full and on time for continued access to benefits. 

• Provide accurate and complete information on your membership application. 

• Use member resources, including the database and business roster, ethically and solely for purposes aligned with WBWG's mission (e.g., networking, business support). Misuse, such as spamming or unauthorized commercial solicitation, may result in termination of membership. 

• Participate in good faith in chapter development if selected as an ambassador, including organizing local events and promoting WBWG values. 

• Notify WBWG of any changes to your contact or business information to maintain the accuracy of the member's only database and business roster. Membership fees are non-refundable, except in cases where an application is denied prior to approval.

4. Data Usage and Privacy

 

Information provided in your membership application, including personal details, contact information, and business data, will be collected and stored securely by WBWG. This data will be used exclusively for: 

 

• Populating and maintaining the member's only database.​

• Compiling the member's business roster. 

• Communicating membership updates, event invitations, and discount opportunities. 

• Facilitating chapter development and ambassador selections.

 

WBWG commits to protecting your privacy. Data will not be shared with third parties outside of WBWG without your explicit consent, except as required by law. Members accessing the database agree not to disclose or misuse others' information. WBWG may use aggregated, anonymized data for organizational reporting or improvement purposes.

 

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting WBWG leadership.

 

5. Chapters and Ambassador Program

 

WBWG will leverage its membership to establish local chapters, enhancing community engagement and localized activities. Paid members interested in leadership roles may apply to become area ambassadors. Ambassadors will:

• Lead chapter initiatives, such as organizing local golf events and recruiting members. 

• Receive training, resources, and recognition from WBWG. 

• Commit to upholding WBWG's mission and values in their local efforts.

 

Selection as an ambassador is at WBWG's discretion and may involve additional agreements or responsibilities.

 

6. Termination and Modifications 

 

• Termination: Membership may be terminated by WBWG for violations of this Agreement, non-payment of fees, or conduct detrimental to the organization. Members may cancel their membership at any time, but no refunds will be issued for the current term. 

• Modifications: WBWG reserves the right to modify this Agreement, benefits, or fees with at least 30 days' notice to members. Continued membership after such notice constitutes acceptance of changes. 

• Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of [Insert Applicable Jurisdiction, e.g., the State of [State] in the United States], without regard to conflict of law principles.

 

7. Acknowledgment and Signature

 

By signing our digital application (see below link)  acknowledging this Agreement during the application process, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by its terms. You also acknowledge receipt of the membership application and understand that submission of the fee initiates your membership upon approval.
